Rethinking the education of children about digital space
It is no accident that there has been a dramatic increase in incidents of child sexual abuse and exploitation since the onset of the internet. It is not that the internet is bad per se, but we as a society need to adapt our mindset to address the issues in a calm and open debate that looks at the ways in which we educate children about potential threats to their safety; the measures that we can take to reduce the pressures on children that derive from highly sexually charged imagery that is legally available to anyone; and most of all to address the needs of those children who are already in an abuse/exploitation scenario.

This document is about the manifestation of sexual orientation towards children through legal content.

It is incumbent on a progressive society to address the threats to children as they are, and prepare them for the digital world in which they will surf most often unsupervised with a capacity to interact with people anywhere in the world with whom they can share personal information and imagery, and sometimes a little more.

This material is already challenging but it is important that people understand the concepts and dangers being highlighted.
