We have presented to many students in secondary schools in Ireland, particularly in the Greater Dublin Area.
Statistically we have come across many children who have either in the past or currently are experiencing sexual abuse and exploitation primarily in the home.
We know that you cannot tell us who you are and what your suffering is. We know that you feel isolated and lonely and it may seem that nobody recognises that you exist.
It may seem to you that everyone speaks of the abuse of generations past and nobody dares to mention YOU and your silent suffering.
We know that you are there and we know that we have met many of you on our journey through schools. We would urge you to contact organisations such as the ISPCC who operate Child Line.
These people will help you in any way that they can, even if it is only to have a chat - anonymously - without any pressure or commitment by you to reveal your identity or place you in a position that forces you to run the risk of 'telling' and the consequences that this may bring from your abuser.
Give them a call. You'll be glad that you did!
